Purpose 

Established in 2021, National Environmental Reporting and Documentation, LLC (NERD) is a new consulting company focused on enhancing the long-term viability of environmental remediation projects by helping companies prepare the most comprehensive, professional, and clear project documents and reports possible. NERD recognizes the importance of precise, understandable project documents for each remediation site as these documents are referenced to guide continued remediation, land use, and long-term management and disposition of real property. NERD also understands the challenges associated with drafting and preparing comprehensive environmental remediation project documents that encompass a variety of technical subject matter. Often these documents are prepared by multiple authors using different writing styles and approaches, and the finished product can be long, difficult to follow, or even contradictory from one section to another. Even with strong authors, critical project planning documents, when written with the current project delivery team, regulators, and other stakeholders as the audience, may not stand the test of time. These documents can skew heavily toward the use of current institutional knowledge and acronyms, leaving out critical background framework and project details that will enable future document users to understand the full scope of the project activities, decisions, and final results.
